Deputy President William Ruto is overjoyed after reaching an agreement with the National Assembly Speaker and Democratic Party Leader, Justin Muturi, who has now officially joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Muturi, who has hinted at running for president, signed a deal in Karen earlier today with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance principals led by DP Ruto, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi, and FORD Kenya’s Moses Wetangula.
During the ceremony, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance revealed that negotiations had been ongoing for some time and that the necessary procedures to welcome the Democratic Party of Kenya to the alliance had been completed. The alliance also revealed that it is in talks with various other unnamed parties in order to expand even further.
Muturi’s inclusion in the alliance is viewed as a boost in the Deputy President’s efforts to entice Mount Kenya voters ahead of the August general elections.
