Kenyans are counting down the days until the next general elections, when they will have the chance to elect the leaders of their choosing to rule for the next five years.
Many politicians are seen campaigning around Kenya selling their manifestos in order to defend their current political positions as MCAs, MPs, Senators, Women Representatives, and Governors.
On the other hand, the presidential contest is not far behind, with the Azimio team led by Odinga and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance camp led by DP Ruto viewed as the two most powerful coalitions. This means that if Kenyan elections were held today, the next president would come from either the Azimio La Umoja or Kenya Kwanza Alliance camps.
The two frontrunners, Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto, have popularized their political parties in many districts of Kenya, putting them in a better position to succeed President Kenyatta, who is slated to leave office in August after serving two terms.
Jane Moronge, the Honorable Jane Moronge, had previously stated her support for Ruto’s UDA party. At several of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance rallies, the well-known politician was also seen.
When the renowned politician announced her departure from the UDA camp and joined the Azimio La Umoja camp, it dealt a major blow to the UDA camp.
After listening to Migori residents’ needs, the Migori gubernatorial hopeful announced she has decided to leave the UDA party and join the Azimio vehicle. She also stated that she will run for governor of Migori with the Azimio ticket.
