Alfred Mutua, governor of Machakos, has suffered a major setback just a day after defecting from Azimio to join Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.
This comes after the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal rejected Maendeleo Chap Chap’s application to leave the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the court stated that they should have pursued internal alternative dispute resolution mechanisms before going to the tribunal.
This comes just a day after Mutua defected to Ruto, claiming that his party was kept in the dark about the Azimio la Umoja scandal and had yet to access or comprehend the coalition agreement.
Mutua told the press that their agreement with Kenya Kwanza is very open and has no zoning, and that Ruto is the best person to lift Kenyans out of poverty.
Mutua’s move, according to DP Ruto, shows that Kenyans have rejected blackmail politics.
