Three Reasons Why Ruto Might Lose 90% Of Western Region Votes

The battle for Western region votes has been a major political issue between former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga and Deputy President William Samoei Ruto. The two leaders are all fighting for Western region supremacy ahead of the election because they know that winning in the Western region will give someone a boost in their chances of securing the Presidential spot.

The ODM leader, Hon Raila Amollo Odinga, has been a candidate who has been securing many votes from the region. Based on previous elections and the reasons listed below, he may be able to secure the region’s rich votes:

1.The Fight for Regional Supremacy Among Ruto’s Top Allies

According to the Nation Media Group, Kakamega county senator Hon. Cleophas Malala and top Ruto ally Hon. Boniface Khalwale will compete for the region’s Gerbanatorial seat. Despite being an ANC leader, Malala continues to support Deputy President William Samoei Ruto.

The two leaders are extremely powerful, and the DP must consider their political differences over the Governorship. This will make it difficult for both of them to campaign for Ruto in the next election, and Ruto may lose the majority of his supporters in the region due to political differences.

2.Regional Political Disagreements Among Top Mulembe Leaders

Despite the region’s top leaders, the Mulembe community found it necessary to have one spokesman. This is good news for Raila because he has secured the support of two powerful leaders, Hon. Atwoli and Hon. Wickliffe Oparanya, who are now considered Luhyas spokesmen.

Ruto’s Mulembe side is less influential and is not supported by any leader who can bring him a majority of voters because Malala, despite her influence, is still tied to the ANC party.

3.Raila’s Regional Plans To Revive The Region’s Economy By Reviving Companies

Former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga brought an investor to the Bukhungu 2 declaration, who was awarded a contract to revive Mumias Sugar Company after six months. This touched many people’s hearts, and Raila also revealed plans to establish additional businesses in the region to increase employment.

This is a big boost for former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga, and he may get a lot of votes because of his development plans for the people in the region, who won’t vote for anyone else.
