One Kenya Alliance (OKA) coalition has ruled out the prospect of joining Kenya Kwaza alongside former partners Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.
OKA, we’re not joining Kenya kwanza.
With only 177 days to the election and the deadline for forming a coalition nearing, the OKA alliance team revealed that talks with the Azimio La Umoja team, led by ODM leader Raila Odinga, were underway.
Cyrus Chirogo, speaking at Nasianda village in Kakamega county’s Lukuyani constituency, claimed they were only talking to the Azimio La Umoja team.
/“Mazungumzu iko inaendelea na watu wa Azimio na tutazumgumza na sisi sio waoga na hukuna mwenye atatukalia ( We are going with talks on the possible coalition formation with Azimio la Umoja, we are not weak as many have been saying so no one will control us),” Chirongo said.
The OKA team ruled out a reunion with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Wetangula, who trooped that backs Deputy President Ruto’s camp to create the Kenya kwanza coalition.
/”I was praying while my eyes were closed but when opened them I did not see Mudavadi and Wetangula, so next time when I’ll be praying my eyes will be open,” Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said.
Gideon Moi, the leader of the Kanu party, said they have begun discussions with like-minded leaders ahead of the General Election.
/”We have started talking with other leaders who are of like-minded, please give us the chance to negotiate so that we can have a united country,” Gideon said.
Coalitions must be formed four months before the general election, according to the political parties modifications act of 2021, and coalition agreements must be filed with the registrar of political parties.
