Patrick Ntutu, a former CAS for Uhuru, officially joined UDA today during Ruto’s engagement with people and leaders in the area. Raila’s close ally, who has also defected to UDA, was also present at the meeting. Stephen Ntutu, a pivotal figure in Raila’s campaigns in Narok and the Maasai community.
Ruto has resorted to social media to proclaim the good news that his meeting in Narok today resulted in the two defecting to his party, which has continued to induct many new members. Other members of parliament were also present.
Members of parliament who have changed goalposts and joined Ruto’s UDA ahead of the August elections include Gabriel Tongonyo, a Jubilee Member of Parliament, and Soipan Tuya, who has also changed goalposts and joined Ruto’s UDA. The UDA Secretariat had a high-profile meeting with Kiringaga County UDA aspirants led by Governor Anne Waiguru, sparking speculation about what might be in the works ahead of the party primaries.
Following the meeting, Waiguru claimed that the aspirants reaffirmed their support for Deputy President William Ruto and the UDA party before of the party NEB meeting in Kirinyaga and nominations.
