The UDA party’s leader, Deputy President William Ruto, has finally ended the speculation about his running mate by announcing Mathira constituency member of the national assembly Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate in the August general elections.
Rigathi Gachagua came out on top after extensive consultations with him, Prof Kithure Kindiki, Hon Ndindi Nyoro, Hon Anne Waiguru, and Justin Muturi, among others.
Ruto assigned Rigathi Gachagua an immediate assignment shortly after he spoke for the first time to thank the deputy president for nominating him to the position.
Ruto directed his deputy to immediately begin working with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on the Kenya Kwanza county economic charters to ensure their completion.
Ruto directed Gachagua to walk alongside Kuria and work toward the end goal, which he claims will allow Kenya Kwanza to govern from the start.
In a related development, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi has congratulated Gachagua on his elevation. Gachagua, according to Musalia, is up to the task.
He chastised the Azimio la Umoja camp for expecting Kenya Kwanza to make a mistake with his running mate. He also warned them (Azimio) not to expect any fallout from the selection of a running mate in Kenya Kwanza.
