Nairobi Governor Orders Removal of Barriers at Former Hilton Hotel for Public Access

During a meet-the-people tour in the city on Monday, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja ordered the removal of barriers at the former Hilton Hotel in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The hotel had been operational in Kenya for 53 years but shut down on December 31, 2022. The barriers had restricted entry to authorized individuals, including customers and visitors with valid reasons to be there.

Governor Sakaja expressed his admiration for the resilience and positivity of the people of the city, even during tough times.

Once the barriers are removed, the public will have easier access to the Kencom bus terminus, where different Public Service Vehicles ply various routes.
