How Ruto’s Team Moved to Block My Deal With Raila – Kalonzo

Kalonzo Musyoka, the head of the Wiper Party, has revealed the machinations behind forging a deal with Azimio La Umoja, claiming that the Kenya Kwanza alliance, commanded by Deputy President William Ruto, was planning to sabotage his accord with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Musyoka said that DP’s agents tried to get him to join the coalition before he joined Raila’s Azimio La Umoja movement during an interview with Citizen TV’s Waihiga Mwaura on Friday, March 18.

He claimed that the Kenya Kwanza brigade sent his close friend, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, to persuade him to join Ruto’s camp.

Kalonzo, on the other hand, indicated that he turned down their offer and instead signed with Azimio La Umoja because he disagreed with the Kenya Kwanza team ideologically.

“My friend, they sent Wetangula, but we never met and are still waiting to meet. I’ll tell them to quit this bid if they think they can persuade me and if they love our country. I’m going to look at William Ruto and tell him he shouldn’t bother with this bid “he explained.
Wetangula’s relationship was missed by Kalonzo, who remains hopeful that the Ford Kenya leader will join him in Azimio La Umoja.

“I tell you, I miss Wetangula because I’ve been through so much with him. As a result, don’t be surprised if he decides to join me. I pray for Wetangula to leave Kenya Kwanza and join Azimio la Umoja every day and night “Musyoka made a remark.

Kalonzo indicated that his contract with Raila was just for mid-level positions like Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, and that the finer details were still being worked out.

The Wiper leader also denied being paid Ksh3 billion to join Azimio La Umoja, saying the charges cast doubt on his integrity and passion for the country.

“Those who know me know that integrity is an important element of who I am. I have never seen Ksh1 billion since I was born. Why would someone want to hold Ksh1 billion? “I’ll never be able to auction off my neighborhood,” he added.

Kalonzo also addressed his remarks on impeaching ODM leader Raila Odinga, claiming that the media exaggerated the situation.

“Power-sharing talks are still ongoing. We want to make sure that the Kamba community is treated with respect.

“As oka, we’ll be on the ballot because we’ve put together a coalition agreement based on the three-legged stool known as Azimio-One Kenya Alliance,” he explained.
