Kenya Kwanza presidential hopeful William Ruto believes he will clinch the country’s presidency in the August general election.
Speaking at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi County for the Kenya Destiny Prayer Summit organised by the Association of Evangelical and Pentecostal Churches, the UDA party leader said there is no doubt that he will ascend to power next month.
Ruto and his running Rigathi Gachagua were ordained and given bibles to raise in the air as a pastor spoke blessings to them.
“From where I stand God has given us victory,” Ruto said amid cheers and applause from his supporters.
As he is famously known forquoting bible verses that sometimes don’t exist, Ruto went ahead to quote a verse in the book of Psalms;
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Mark the season with thoughtful words for each day: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” ( Psalm 16:8)
Meanwhile, after spending days selling the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya agenda in most parts of the Kenyan Coast, Ruto’s nemesis Raila Odinga will be in Nairobi traversing different constituencies of the the county on Saturday.
