According to UDA politician David Tarus, who made a statement today, Ukambani’s political boss, Kalonzo Musyoka, is in a precarious situation.
Following Raila Odinga’s defeat in his sixth presidential bid, Tarus, a Mosop parliamentary candidate, claimed that the Wiper party leader was no longer qualified to represent the Ukambani region.
Kalonzo dropped his presidential bid three times, in 2013, 2017, and 2022, to support Raila, who was defeated in the State House race by newly-entered Deputy President William Ruto.
The Kamba society would soon choose either the departing Machakos Governor or the incoming Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr as its de facto future leader to replace Kalonzo, whom Tarus described as a spent force used by Raila.
“Senator Mutula Kilonzo and Dr. Alfred Mutua will soon be the subject of a ” lower Eastern ” poll to determine who will be the area’s new ruler. Kalonzo Musyoka’s capacity has sadly been pushed to its breaking point after exposing the area to a torturous 15 years of opposition. He has depleted his reserves of energy “Tarus stated in a tweet.
This comes after rumors circulated that Kalonzo Musyoka has yet to join Kenya Kwanza.
According to Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani, a political analyst, the former vice president’s political light has dimmed as a result of occupying Ruto’s political space.
