Mrs. Anne Waiguru, Governor of Kirinyaga, has expressed her willingness to withdraw from the Kirinyaga Governor’s race, potentially giving her opponent Wangui Ngirici, who is running on an independent ticket, a free ride to the seat by early morning.
Waiguru has stated that she is ready to deputize DP Ruto, stating that while she has a direct ticket in the United Democratic Alliance to run for Governor, if the DP chooses her as his Deputy, she is willing to drop her quest to become Kirinyaga Governor for the second time and occupy the space provided.
“Choosing a running mate is a calculated decision based on the ultimate cumulative value an individual brings to the Presidential ticket,” Ms. Waiguru told the Nation. “As a result, it would be a great honor for me if our presidential candidate considers [me for the position].”
