An investigation has been launched by the police in Kuria West, Migori County, following the discovery of the body of an unidentified child, believed to be between the ages of 3 and 4, floating in Ntunyigi dam.
According to Kuria West sub-county Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, a local resident found the body on Saturday morning.
The police suspect that the child was killed elsewhere and the body was then dumped in the dam, as the body had multiple injuries indicating that the child was most likely murdered.
The police have not yet identified any suspects and are continuing their investigation. The body has been taken to Kehancha sub-county hospital mortuary for autopsy.
