UDA Leaders Who Have Given Up Their Political Careers to Serve Ruto’s Presidency

After the party primaries concluded in mid-March, several prominent leaders lost their tickets, while others did not run for any political office. Those who lost their tickets had the option of running on an Independent party ticket, but some leaders chose to accept the voters’ choice.

Professor Kithure Kindiki did not run for re-election to the Tharaka Nithi senetorial seat because he was one of the most qualified candidates to deputize Ruto. Despite being excluded, he remains committed to delivering more votes for his boss, Dr. William Samoei Ruto.

Musalia Mudavadi, the leader of the ANC, did not take advantage of his opportunity to run for an elective seat. Despite being the region’s kingpin, he chose to deliver votes to Ruto in exchange for positions for his allies.

Cate Waruguru, the Laikipia women’s representative, had the option of leaving the UDA and joining the Jubilee Party in order to defend her MP seat. Unfortunately, she chose to stay in UDA and is now focusing her efforts on campaigning for DP Ruto in the Mount Kenya region.

Kenya now has 73 days before the general elections on August 9th. Leaders are now running up and down as their campaigns near completion.
