Hon. Peter Munya, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, and Hon. Joe Mucheru, ICT Cabinet Secretary, have been spotted at the KICC ahead of Raila’s running mate announcement.
Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, is allegedly missing, as cracks in the Azimio coalition raise concerns about their differences on the running mate post.
Raila Amollo Odinga, the former Prime Minister, will make the final announcement today after failing to do so yesterday for undisclosed reasons.
This comes after the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team named Hon. Rigathi Gachagua as Ruto’s running mate as they work to solidify support in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the elections.
The race for Raila’s running mate is now between the Narc Kenya Party’s Hon Martha Karua, the Wiper Party’s Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Gatanga Member of Parliament Hon Peter Kenneth. There are rumors that Odinga may settle for Martha Karua because of the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.
