For the past few months, Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza group have been making headlines with their campaigns as they seek to form the next government ahead of Raila Odinga and his Azimio group.

According to a recent Tifa Opinion Poll, the duo has maintained their lead in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Azimio team is in the process of vetting their running mate, with Raila given complete authority over the process.

Narc party leader Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Charity Ngilu, Peter Kenneth, Women Representative Sabina Chege, and governor Hassan Joho are among those who have endorsed her for running mate.
Azimio is determined to win on August 9th, as President Kenyatta continues to back Raila, particularly in the Mt Kenya region.
However, Mombasa candidate Governor Mike Sonko has warned Raila about a strange plot against his presidential bid.

Raila’s inner circle, according to Sonko, is misadvising him to the point of undermining his support across the country.
