Hon Tim Wanyonyi, a Westlands Member of Parliament, has suffered a major setback, with reports indicating that he will not run for governor of Nairobi County or even become deputy governor, as previously reported.
According to a recent report, President Uhuru Kenyatta has changed his mind and reshuffled Azimio’s roster in the city.
Polycarp Igathe has been chosen as his governorship candidate, with Philip Kaloki, a close ally of wiper party leader Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, as his deputy.
Tim Wanyonyi has insisted that he can only run for governor and has promised to run as an independent if he is not elected.
Senator Johnson Sakaja, who is running for the city’s top seat on the UDA ticket, will face the team.
