Oscar Sudi, MP for Kapseret, did not attend in court for the hearing of his education certificate frauds case because he had Coronavirus and is in quarantine, the court was told.
His lawyers, lead by Thomas Ruto, told trial magistrate Felix Kombo that specialists urged the MP to remain alone in order to heal.

Ruto requested that the case be adjourned for 30 days to allow his client to recover.
Prosecuting attorney Joseph Riungu said that the defense lawyers called him on Monday to inform him that Sudi is ill.
He also stated that he has two witnesses ready to testify in this case in court.
Riungu did not oppose the MP’s lawyers’ request to have the case pulled out for a month, resulting in the matter being adjourned until March 24, 2022.
In this case, the MP is accused of faking three academic certificates.
Sudi is accused of providing fake academic papers to the electoral commission when he ran for office in the 2013 general election.
He is also accused of falsifying his KCSE certificate.
The prosecution claimed that his Diploma Certificate in Business Management, allegedly given by the Kenya Institute of Management, was counterfeit.
According to the court, he committed the crime on January 31, 2013, at the IEBC offices in Edoret, Uasin Gishu County.
