Former Kenyan Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga has accused members of the UDA of lying about what he said about reviving Kenya’s textile industry and the ongoing Mitumba business.
In his own words, Kenya’s former Prime Minister stated that he would not stop or rather abolish the Mitumba business because it has created numerous job opportunities throughout the country. Raila, on the other hand, stated that he will ensure that textile industries are revitalized.
According to Raila’s reports, his government will look into ensuring that all Mitumba traders are protected in order to reduce the increasing cases of businessmen and women taking advantage of these traders across the country.
In a recent incident, Kenya’s former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement party leader, Raila Odinga, was accused of claiming these Mitumba belonged to dead people. Raila went on to say that this was not what he meant, and that he will investigate these cartels.
In response to this incident, Kenyans who took to their various social media accounts to express their opinions and suggestions on the matter have urged the former Prime Minister of Kenya to conduct thorough research in order to avoid starting a project that his government will not complete.
