During the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party campaign in Nyamira county, seven helicopters landed and were all parked in a field.
The Nyamira rallies were led by Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua, who were accompanied by a number of leaders who also used the choppers for transportation.
Netizens reacted to the photos, with some claiming that it was standard practice in presidential campaigns because leaders had to cover large areas in a single day. Others claimed that “Pesa otas” meant “paper money,” referring to the exorbitant fees charged for hiring the choppers by the hour.
Others claimed that politicians were wealthy and could easily fund their campaigns.
