Kenyans are still speculating about who will be Raila Odinga’s running mate after Gachagua was chosen as DP Ruto’s running mate.
And now… The Azimio la Umoja Running Mate selection panel’s scores, which were forwarded to Raila Odinga, have reportedly been made public.
According to reports, Martha Karua, leader of the Narc Kenya party, received the highest interview score of 82 percent, followed by Kalonzo Musyoka, leader of the Wiper party, who received an 80 percent. With a score of 76 percent, Peter Munya is ranked third.
The interviews were also attended by Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege, Peter Kenneth, and governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), and Charity Ngilu (Kitui). The panel also heard from Stephen Tarus, a former National Liberal Party ambassador.
Raila will have to walk a political tight rope when selecting a running mate with a high level of devotion and compatibility, according to political analysts, to avoid a situation similar to that between the President and Deputy President Ruto.
