The Deputy President William Ruto has welcomed the move by two Kiambu senatorial aspirant to have one of them run for the seat using the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket to ensure UDA clinches the seat come 9th August 2022.
Ruto says it is in the spirit of consolidating and strengthening Kenya Kwanza team in Kenya, as he received Kiambu County Speaker, Stephen Ndichu and Karungo Wa Thang’wa, who have been competing for the senatorial position, where Karungo Wa Thang’wa who has thanked his competitor has been elevated to be the unbeatable Senator in Kiambu county.
Wa Thang`wa has said the move has shown a clear indication of leaders willing to nurture young leaders under UDA. He has assured Ndichu that they will walk together to ensure they both achieve the dreams he had for Kiambu County.
The Deputy President has congratulated the speaker termed Ndichu as a seasoned politician whose move to step down his ambition is noble, saying the move will consolidate the 1.3 million votes in Kiambu County, as he urged all Kiambu voters to rally behind Karungo Wa Thang’wa, even as UDA nominations are expected to be done on 15th April 2022.
Ndichu has applauded the Deputy president for the strategy he has used to ensure all party leaders competing for the same position agree amicably and said the arbitration is a sign of good leadership when Ruto becomes the fifth President of The Republic of Kenya.
