The IEBC has published a list of Kenyan legislators who will be unable to run for any office in the August general elections. The two front-runners, according to the Nation Africa, are Hon. Mike Sonko and Ferdinand Waititu. The two former Jubilee governors who were impeached a few years ago have been removed from office.
Furthermore, politicians such as Ferdinand Waititu and Mike Sonko have been prevented from running for office. Hon Oscar Sudi, MP for Kapseret, is one of them, and his ability to run for parliament has been called into question due to his lack of formal education.
Other notable figures include Ken Arama, Ayub Savula, John Waluke, Patrick Musimba, and Alfred Keter.
The identity of these leaders has been communicated to the EACC. If the EACC determines that these leaders are ineligible to hold any office, they will be unable to vote in the general elections in August.
Oscar Sudi, a close associate of Deputy President William Ruto, is the subject of an ongoing investigation into Education academic papers due to rumors that his documents are not accurate due to deceptive information records.
