Royal Media Services chairman Samuel Kamau Macharia has expressed his optimism in the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya ticket in the August 9 presidential election.
The business magnet was speaking on Friday in a meeting with both Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua and other leaders.
SK Macharia said he does not attend most rallies but works hard behind the scenes to ensure Raila Odinga wins beckoning presidential polls.
He said Azimio La Umoja’s popularity cannot be compared to their close competitors Kenya Kwanza led by its presidential flag bearer William Ruto.
“We are confident that you’re going to win the elections. Some of us here you don’t see us in rallies, but we work overnight in various ways to make sure that Raila becomes president,” said Macharia.
He further described the Ruto-Gachagua ticket as a pair that will encourage corruption in the country should they ascend to power.
“The two teams you can not compare them. If you want us to continue being corrupt then you can go to the other team,” added the business tycoon.
“Corruption is purely failure of the government to take action. Is all going to be the impression you are going to give,” he added.
Meanwhile, latest opinion polls have put Raila Odinga ahead of William Ruto in the race for presidency.
