As the country prepares for the general election in August 2022, many Kenyans believe the presidential race will be a two-horse race between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto. This is due to the fact that the two top leaders have a large following across the country.
Because of the handshake, many of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s men have backed Raila Odinga, including Fred Matiang’i. For some time, the Interior CS has been engaged in a verbal brawl with DP William Ruto and his allies, but Kenyans were left speechless today after waking up to a surprise message from Matiang’i.
According to the Daily Nation, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ardent supporter Fred Matiang’i has finally surrendered, stating that he is willing to work with DP William Ruto if the DP wins the presidency in the upcoming general election.
Matiang’i assured Kenyans of a free and fair general election and stated that, while he supports Raila, he will not object if Ruto is elected president.
