During a thanksgiving service at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that President William Ruto had intended to offer the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka if he joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
However, Kalonzo’s insistence on staying with the Azimio la Umoja coalition led President Ruto to award the position to Alfred Mutua instead.
In his address, DP Gachagua urged Ukambani leaders to collaborate with the government to ensure that their region benefits from government services.
He also discouraged citizens from participating in anti-government protests and instead encouraged them to support President Ruto’s vision for the nation. He further emphasized that the Kamba people do not support leaders who engage in property destruction.
