On Wednesday, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi advised opposition leader Raila Odinga to focus his battle on the Supreme Court rather than the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Ngunyi raised concerns about unanswered questions regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling on the 2022 August polls, claiming that the six unelected judges made William Ruto president.
Raila has previously criticized IEBC over the August poll results and called for reforms to improve the democratic process.
The Supreme Court nullified the 2022 polls after a 14-day process in which lawyers representing Raila, IEBC, and Ruto battled.
Raila has led public demonstrations and demands for dialogue with Ruto, and while he accepted Ruto’s call to end protests and engage in a bi-partisan approach, he signaled a return to anti-government protests after the holy Month of Ramadhan.
