A high school student in Nyabisia Secondary School, Nyamache division, Bobasi constituency, has reported an appalling incident of corporal punishment resulting in the loss of one of his testicles.
The 19-year-old student alleges that five teachers and a security guard brutalized him, which caused the rupture of one testicle. Doctors were forced to remove it at Hema Hospital in Kisii town.
This is the second case within a week in which teachers have beaten students so severely that they lost their testicles. Parents have expressed outrage and called for the Ministry of Education to take stern action against the teachers responsible for such incidents. The police in Kisii have confirmed the incident and promised to arrest and prosecute the suspects.
The student was caught allegedly cheating in an end-of-term exam, and the teachers, upon discovering this, chose to inflict corporal punishment on him, leading to severe injuries in his genitalia.
The student described being taken to a room, which other students called the “torture chamber,” where he was beaten mercilessly for two hours, resulting in a bloody scrotum. The student resisted entering the room and tried to explain that he had received the leaked exam paper from someone else.
Despite his efforts, the teachers tore his trousers, beat him senseless, and tied him up with ropes. They then placed a wooden trunk between his legs and hands and tightened the trap with ropes, after which they whipped him with electric cables, causing him to feel a piercing pain in his testicular area.
The student passed out due to the intense pain. When he came to, he found himself in the dormitory, bleeding profusely. The teachers tried to perform first aid but eventually allowed him to be taken to the hospital.
