Siaya Senator Hon James Aggrey Orengo, one of Kenya’s top legal minds, has once again made a prediction about Kenya’s future following the death of former President Mwai Kibaki, who has been praised as a man who transformed the East African nation to greater economic heights. Orengo expressed his hope that Kenya will develop into a great democracy and that it will one day have a president with a similar personality and style to President Mwai Kibaki in State House.
Orengo predicted that Kenya will grow into a great democracy and that there will be a president with the character and style of Mwai Kibaki during a special Senate sitting to eulogize the deceased President Mwai Kibaki. Who will be willing to listen to opposing viewpoints, even from political opponents, and will use them constructively to continue working and transforming the country? People will be able to question the president’s leadership, and he will respond positively, as Kibaki did, and the president will never encourage impunity, as the fallen third Head of State did.
“I am hoping for this Kenya republic to grow to a great democracy, I hope that we will have someone in State House with the character and style of President Mwai Kibaki. I remember when people went to him with things which are not within his responsibility he would tell you that you are in a wrong. He also liked the contrary opinions which is the main problem we have in this country and in the third world, people don’t want to listen to contrary opinions which is part of democracy…” Said Orengo.
