Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has issued a warning to the Azimio la Umoja coalition against resuming their weekly demonstrations after the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Mudavadi has cautioned that Raila Odinga and his supporters’ move could potentially plunge the country into political turmoil and uncertainty.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner in Mombasa on Sunday, Mudavadi urged politicians to avoid returning the country to the dark days of the 2007/2008 post-election violence.
He expressed concerns that the coalition’s demands were not honest or realistic, but rather aimed at disrupting Kenya Kwanza’s plan to work for the people.
Mudavadi also stressed that engaging in meaningless demonstrations is negatively affecting the country’s economy, and urged politicians to focus on turning around the economy for the benefit of all Kenyans.
