Mike Sonko and Karungo wa Thang’wao get a reprieve after the High Court issues a major ruling.

Former Nairobi Governor Gideon Mbuvi, alias Mike Sonko, and his Kiambu county senator Karungo wa Thang’wa have been granted a reprieve after the Supreme Court finally dismissed a petition seeking to bar candidates with integrity issues from running for political office in the upcoming August elections.

Mike Sonko, the former governor of Nairobi County, now has reason to celebrate following this major ruling that had seen his political dreams dashed, leaving some Kenyans criticizing him and mocking his leadership. The IEBC chair, Wafula Chebukati, had barred Mike Sonko and Karungo wa Thang’wa from running in the August elections on the grounds that they had been impeached from their political positions.

However, a number of Kenyans appeared to disagree with the High Court of Kenya’s ruling; see some of the reactions from other Twitter users in the post below; also leave your thoughts about this court ruling in the section below; and stay tuned on my page for more news on the same; like and share more; and leave any feedback about this content.
