Embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna was among the millions of Kenyans who were waiting for IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to officially release the results of the Presidential race in the August 9th General Election.
Miguna Miguna, who was promised by the DP that if he wins, he will be allowed to return to Kenya after spending over four years in Canada following his deportation following the 2017 elections, was closely following developments at Bomas of Kenya moments before the official release of those results.
Then, when Kenyans were wondering why IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati was taking so long to arrive, Miguna took to Twitter to advise the Chairman on what to do, predicting what might happen if Raila Odinga challenged the results and was among the losers.
“To Wafula Chebukati, announce the results and issue the certificate to the President-elect, William Ruto,” he wrote on the social media platform.
In that tweet, he also stated that if Raila Odinga rejects the results, goes to the Supreme Court, and a rerun is declared, the DP will defeat him by a larger margin.
“Allow Raila Odinga to appeal the results to the Supreme Court. Even if the election is rerun, William Ruto would win by a much larger margin “He wrote something.
His call to the Presidential Election Returning Officer came just hours after Raila Odinga’s Chief Agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory rejected the results even before they were released, claiming election and results malpractice.
Saitabao Ole Kanchory stated at a press conference that “we have intelligence reports that the IEBC system was penetrated and hacked.”
That some IEBC officials committed electoral violations, and he demanded that the alleged officials be arrested and charged.
