The days are ticking away for both former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his main rival, Deputy President William Ruto, in terms of selecting their running mates.
Nobody knows who will deputize William Ruto in the United Democratic Alliance. Some believe that politicians from the Mount Kenya Region will help him gain more votes, while others believe that Musalia Mudavadi is the right man.
Azimio, too, has a larger task. There are about four candidates vying to be Odinga’s deputy. Kalanzo, Karua, Mutua, Peter Kenneth, and Peter Munya are their names.
Today on KTN News, Manyora gave Kalonzo Musyoka free advice on why the role of Deputy President is unimportant and why he should consider the big picture. Manyora advised Kalonzo to consider a long-term strategy rather than a short-term one. Using William Ruto as an example, Manyora stated that it is not a requirement that Kalonzo be supported by Azimio if he wishes to run for the country’s most powerful seat.
Do you believe Kalonzo should resign so that other leaders can deputize Raila? Please leave a comment.
