After the August 9th elections, Lang’ata Member of Parliament Nixon Korir believes that Deputy President William Ruto is the best candidate to lead and improve the country.
Korir said in an interview with the Star that leaders should be elected based on their performance in previous posts, and that Ruto’s track record stands out when compared to ODM leader Raila Odinga’s.
“I believe that Ruto is the best candidate. Raila served Langata as an MP for long but what did he do? He was a Prime Minister but he cannot be compared with the DP’s track record. As a voter, I look at the Ruto’s track record, capabilities and his vision, he definitely has what it takes to be the fifth president,” said Korir.
He detailed Ruto’s contributions to the Ministry of Agriculture, where he reduced fertilizer fees, the Ministry of Higher Education, where he reduced backlogs in university administration and the time it took to join university, and the hundreds of TIVET facilities that were built.
He went on to dispute assertions that Kenya is not united, noting that it is, and that the country’s biggest challenge right now is the economy and rising living costs.
“Voters should look at who will change the economy. DP Ruto is the best, his bottom-up economic model is a blueprint targeting to promote ordinary Kenyans, empower them financially in bid to generate taxes that will spur the economy,” he added.
