The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning about continued heavy rains and strong winds that are expected to persist in over 28 counties in the country until the end of the week.
In an announcement on Tuesday, the department advised that heavy rainfall may result in flash floods in several parts of the country, while strong winds could cause structural damage in certain areas.
The affected regions include Central Highlands, Nairobi County, Central and South Rift Valley, Southeastern lowlands, Northeastern Kenya, coastal region, and Lake Basin, among others.
The department has advised residents in flood-prone areas to take precautionary measures, such as avoiding walking or driving through moving water, and avoiding open fields or sheltering near grilled windows to minimize exposure to lightning strikes.
The weatherman has urged the public to stay updated on the latest updates to ensure their safety.
