After receiving Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader Alfred Mutua, who defected from the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance coalition to the Kenya Kwanza camp, Deputy President William Ruto has finally broken his silence.
In an address issued today, the Machakos County Governor stated that the decision to leave the Azimio la Umoja movement led by ODM party leader Raila Odinga was made due to a lack of transparency within the Alliance.
He went on to say that his party’s final decision to join the Kenya Kwanza coalition led by Deputy President William Ruto was due to its transparency regarding their agreement within the affiliated parties.

After switching sides, the second in command reacted by sending a strong message to his opponents while welcoming Alfred Mutua.
“Kenyans have rejected blackmail, deception, and conmanship in our politics. Those who have used patronage, force, and impunity to hold our country hostage watajua hawajui na Wakenya hawapangwingwi. Karibu Governor Alfred Mutua and the Kenyan Kwanza family, the Hustler Nation.” He said
