Martha Karua, the leader of the NARC Kenya party, now says that both the Azimio la Umoja movement and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance have rogue individuals in their ranks who have acted selfishly while in power.
According to Karua, these individuals are to blame for the country’s economic development being stymied by increased corruption and misappropriation of public monies.
Karua was giving a speech in Kirinyaga County on Friday as part of her campaign tour. At the August 9 election, she wants to be the county’s governor.
“Mimi nawaambia hizo team zote mbili (Azimio, Kenya Kwanza) hakuna team haina wezi, wakora na wachache wazuri,” she remarked.
“I am looking for this year for the whole of Kenya good leadership. Some of us have been robbed of our property by the national government and we have been robbed of almost every county in Kenya. I ask for your votes, put us in the hands of people who are honest, people who work and people who have personality in them to work for us, ”she said.
Despite stating that she has not made up her mind on which coalition to join ahead of the August elections, Karua intimated that she will be lured to the political party with more service-oriented members.
“What I am waiting for is to look carefully to see which team has the best people, the most, the ones I can join and so we can liberate Kenya so that our property does not continue to be looted. We need to vote for the presidency but with the team we see it there and people can save Kenya, ”said Karua.
She also drummed up support for her governorship bid, claiming that she was the most qualified candidate to succeed current governor Anne Waiguru.
Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici, former Governor Joseph Ndathi, and senator Charles Kibiru are among the candidates vying for the seat.
