Daniel Karaba, a former Kirinyaga senator, has joined Jubilee from the Mwangi Kiunjuri-led The Service Party (TSP).
Karaba is attempting to reclaim the seat he lost to current senator Charles Kibiru, who has proclaimed his intention to unseat incumbent governor Anne Waiguru on a UDA ticket in the August elections.
On Saturday, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho welcomed him to the party at a function in Kagio, Kirinyaga County.
Karaba noted in making the announcement that his choice was influenced by the fact that TSP lacked a clear political direction and that the organization’s management had repeatedly disrespected President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He further boosted support for his governorship bid by underlining that, as head of the Senate Education Committee during his time as Kirinyaga senator, he had a demonstrated track record of implementing substantial improvements that have favorably touched the lives of Kenyans.
