Wavinya Ndeti, a Wiper Machakos County gubernatorial candidate, has urged the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance leadership, led by Raila Odinga and her party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, not to tell any candidate to withdraw their bids in the Machakos gubernatorial race.
Ndeti stated on Thursday during a joint campaign rally for Wiper candidates in Matungulu Constituency Machakos that she is confident of winning the seat with a large margin in the August 9 polls and succeeding Governor Alfred Mutua as the second governor.
She went on to say that her opponents have been campaigning against her because they know she will beat him, urging the Azimio council to allow them to run for the seat despite the fact that some of them are candidates for Azimio affiliate political parties.
“My opponents are concerned that I will beat them. Some are even saying that they have been told to step down, I disagree, let them contest. I want to tell Raila and Kalonzo not to tell any of my opponents to step down so that I can have the opportunity; instead, let us all fight it out. I’ll beat them first thing in the morning “Ndeti stated.
Ndeti will compete against Nzioka Waita of Chama Cha Uzalendo, Johnson Muthama of UDA, and Francis Maliti of Maendeleo Chap Chap.
