Benson Mutua, also known as Bensoul, is a Kenyan songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist. His interest in music began when he was a child, when his father used to play guitar and his mother sang in a choir, and they were his mentors. He joined music bands such as Heart and later joined music Academy to further his career.
Bensoul is well-known for his excellent songwriting and hymn-writing abilities, which catapulted him to stardom and landed him a contract with Sol Generation, one of Kenya’s major performing labels. Over the last five years, his music career has grown rapidly, and he has released hit after hit. He won the Grammy Award for Best Songwriter for his work on Burna Boy’s album “Twice as tall.” He is currently dating Noni Gathoni, and despite the cheating rumors, the couple remains strong and focused.
Kenyans have been requesting that artists perform a song in memory of their fallen hero, former President ‘Mwai Kibaki,’ and Bensoul did not disappoint them this time. He has composed a more memorable song with Mwai Kibaki’s great memories from his childhood and his life achievements. The song is called ‘Kibaki Atabaki,’ which means he will remain forever.
