On Sunday afternoon, leaders of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition convened at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi for their first Public Baraza since calling off mass protests across the country.
Raila Odinga, the Azimio leader, was joined by Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Roots Party’s George Wajackoyah, and a former Murang’a Governor.
The coalition had declared that the forums would provide an opportunity for them to engage with the public on issues affecting the country.
In a statement released on Tuesday, April 11, the coalition stated that, as the negotiators assumed their responsibilities, they would engage with the public through town hall meetings and public barazas.
The purpose of these engagements is to update the public on the coalition’s progress and upcoming course of action following the suspension of protests.
