Azimio Gubernatorial Aspirant Asks Voters to “Vote For Ruto and Vote For Me,” Netizens React (Video)

Campaigns are heating up as preparations for the general election on August 9th take shape across the country.

Aspirants for various elective seats are holding campaigns to rally voters to support their bids in the upcoming elections in order to ensure political survival.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance is keen on capturing various seats, with coalition parties fielding candidates for elective seats throughout the country.

On Monday, 27th June, an Azimio affiliated gubernatorial aspirant surprised many by campaigning for Kenya Kwanza Alliance Presidential candidate, Deputy President William Ruto, rather than Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.

Hon Ole Kenta, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s Narok County gubernatorial aspirant, asked residents on the campaign trail on Monday to vote for DP Ruto but for him as Governor.

Ole Kenta told those who attended the roadside rally to support his governorship bid but vote for DP Ruto for president.

“Nikija mambo ya President mimi ni mtu wa ODM, lakini sitawaambia mpee mtu wa ODM. Nyinyi ni watu wa UDA, sivyo. Peeni mtu wenu Rais. Pigieni Kenta na Ruto. Mimi sitafuti kiti ya Rais,” Hon Ole Kenta said.

Ole Kenta’s decision has elicited a range of reactions from netizens.
