Hon Anyang Nyong’o, the current governor of Kisumu, met with a high delegation from Senegal today for a consultative discussion. Anyang Nyong’o is still running for a second term as Kisumu governor, and he is holding a series of rallies across the country to raise awareness of his political ambitions among Kenyans. He is a staunch supporter of the Azimio la umoja movement, which is led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
He stated on Anyang’s official Facebook page, “It was a pleasure to meet with Senegal’s President, H.E. Macky Sall, who is also the AU Chairman, at State House in Dakar. On the sidelines of the 9th World Water Forum, the UCLGA Secretary General, Jean Pierre Elong Mbasi, myself, and a group of female leaders met with Sall.”
He went on to say that President Sall not only confirmed his attendance at the 9th Africa Summit in Kisumu, but also sent warm greetings to our President, H E Uhuru Kenyatta.
