Senior attorney Ahmednassir Abdullahi, a vocal supporter of DP William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Coalition, has now admitted that the DP is in hot water over his agreement with his co-principals.
According to Ahmednassir, Ruto agreed with ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula that if they receive 70% of Western Kenya votes, they will receive 30% of the cabinet.
According to Ahmednassir, Ruto is in hot water because the duo is expected to deliver more than 90% of Western Kenya votes to the Kenya Kwanza Coalition, based on polls. As a result, Abdullahi claims that if they exceed the 70% threshold, Ruto will be forced to pay an additional 10%.
The DP will be left with a very limited share of government to distribute across Kenya’s other regions, especially the Mt Kenya area, which he has targeted as a stronghold as explained by SC Ahmednassir.
