According to reports and opinions from key influential figures such as political analysts and constitutional lawyers, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka have little to no chance of deputizing Ruto and Raila Odinga.
This has also been stated by City Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, who claims that both the major political horses, Ruto and Raila, have their sights set on the Mountain.
The two are expected to announce their running mates from among the leaders of Mount Kenya Region, which is always regarded as a vote-rich region.
That means that DP Ruto is most likely to choose Kindiki, Gachagua, Waiguru, or Kuria from the top list, which includes ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
However, according to recent reports, DP Ruto, who is set to announce his candidate tomorrow on Saturday, is most likely to choose Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki from among those Mount Kenya leaders.
On the other hand, SC Ahmednasir Abdullahi has already revealed the Mount Kenya candidate, whom Raila will unveil this Sunday at his planned major rally in Kamukunji grounds, just a day after DP Ruto’s declaration on running mate and before the deadline date.
That means Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, as well as Peter Kenneth, who is also vying for the top spot, now have no chance.
