Esther Passaris, the Woman Representative of Nairobi, has spoken out against the sharing of private pictures on social media without the individual’s consent.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Passaris condemned the act as a violation of one’s privacy and dignity. She strongly denounced the release of intimate images without consent and called it a gross invasion of personal life that aims to intimidate, shame, embarrass, and silence the victim.
Passaris emphasized that this shameful act not only affects the victim but also reflects poorly on society, which thrives on character destruction.
She further stated that those who engage in such behavior are unaware of the pain and damage caused to the victim, their family, friends, and the public.
Passaris declared this reprehensible act as unjustifiable under any circumstances and urged society to take a strong stand against it by holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
