Medvedev Warns ‘Stupid’ Polish PM That Poland Would Disappear in Russian War with NATO

Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia, has stated that if a direct war were to break out between Russia and NATO, regardless of the outcome, Poland would cease to exist. This was in response to remarks made by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during an interview with NBC News.

Morawiecki expressed confidence that the Western alliance would win such a conflict and was not concerned about the risk of Poland being drawn into the conflict.

Medvedev, who is currently serving as the deputy chair of Russia’s National Security Council, responded via Twitter that he was not certain which side would win, but considering Poland’s role as a NATO outpost in Europe, the country was sure to disappear together with its prime minister.

Morawiecki is a vocal critic of Russia’s involvement in Ukraine and has compared the country to Nazi Germany in its goals and methods. He has accused EU nations that do not fully support Ukraine of appeasing Moscow.

During his visit to the US, he delivered a speech to the pro-NATO think-tank, the Atlantic Council, where he reiterated his case for investing in Ukraine. Morawiecki claimed that if Kiev were to lose, the West’s “golden age” could come to an end.

Medvedev has previously warned against a possible escalation of the Ukraine conflict, which Russia perceives as a proxy war against it by the US and its allies. He believes that hostilities could go nuclear, leading to catastrophic harm for all sides, and has criticized European leaders who underestimate this risk as incompetent.
