A recently revealed court filing from the Guantanamo Military Commission, which is responsible for the cases of the defendants accused of carrying out the 9/11 terrorist attacks, has revealed that the CIA was closely monitoring two of the hijackers before they attacked the World Trade Center.
The document also contains details about the involvement of Saudi Arabia in the attacks. The Commission’s lead investigator, Don Canestraro, conducted a personal probe of potential Saudi government involvement in the attacks at the request of the defendants’ lawyers.
Based on interviews with representatives of the FBI and Pentagon, the content of the filing suggests that the CIA obstructed official investigations to conceal its infiltration of Al Qaeda.
