Mzungu provides tight security for Gideon Moi as he storms Baringo.

Some residents, however, promised to teach him a lesson in August, claiming that he only tours the county when he needs votes and then disappears once elected.

Many accused him of doing little to address the rising insecurity caused by bandits in Baringo county.

Senator Gideon Moi of Baringo County has drawn attention after a unanimous mzungu was seen providing him with tight security when he officially launched his senatorial bid in Baringo on Sunday.

Gideon Moi, who had previously worshiped at AIC Kabartonjo with the county’s female Representative Gladys Tungo, was seen with a mzungu guard behind him for the majority of the service.

The same security was also seen on Gideon Moi’s campaign vehicle while the senator was meeting with Kabartonjo town residents. At one point, he was seen pushing away intruders who were attempting to gain access, as well as Gideon Moi on top of his car.

Gideon Moi, speaking in Kabartonjo town, urged residents to vote for him again, saying he had some unfinished projects to start. He also stated that he had secured millions of maize bags that would be distributed to Baringo people to help them cope with the high costs of unga.

“We will continue to push for meaningful development in our county to improve the lives of our people in collaboration with the County Government of Baringo and the National Government,” Gideon Moi said.
