Raila Odinga of the Azimio La Umoja coalition’s choice not to hold joint primaries has been described as political suicide in his presidential campaign.
The holding of joint primaries is a strategy aimed at obtaining a majority of Governors, Senators, women Representatives, MPs, and MCA seats in the August general elections. Raila Odinga, on the other hand, will not be able to do so after denying joint primaries.
Over 15 political parties have signed a political pact to join forces with ODM to create the Azimio La Umoja coalition and have decided to compete in elections. This will offer Dp Ruto a distinct advantage in dividing votes in Azimio parties and producing a leader.
Dp Ruto’s strategy is to use the tile of zoning, which means that whenever a certain political party has a stronghold, it will be allowed to field an Aspirant and receive financial and political support from all parties forming Kenya Kwanza in order to win more seats and have more powers in government, whether the government is formed or not.
